Community Project Evaluation

What was the location of your Community Project Implementation? The location of our Community Project Implementation was at the local community center.

How many community members attended the event? We had 150 community members attend the event.

List your objectives here:

  1. To raise awareness about the importance of recycling in our community.
  2. To collect and properly dispose of electronic waste from the attendees.
  3. To provide educational materials and resources on sustainable living practices.

Were each of the objectives met? How were they each met?

  1. Objective 1: To raise awareness about the importance of recycling in our community. This objective was met through various activities during the event. We had informative presentations and interactive displays explaining the benefits of recycling and how it positively impacts the environment. We also distributed brochures and engaged in discussions with attendees about recycling practices.
  2. Objective 2: To collect and properly dispose of electronic waste from the attendees. This objective was successfully met as we set up a designated area for electronic waste collection. We partnered with a local recycling company to ensure proper disposal and recycling of the collected electronic waste, which included old computers, smartphones, and other electronic devices.
  3. Objective 3: To provide educational materials and resources on sustainable living practices. We achieved this objective by setting up information booths where attendees could access pamphlets, flyers, and booklets on sustainable living practices, such as composting, energy conservation, and reducing plastic waste. We also had experts on hand to answer questions and offer guidance.

What could you do differently to meet the objectives or improve the project? To further improve the project and meet the objectives more effectively, we could consider the following:

  1. Pre-event promotion: Increase our promotional efforts to ensure a larger turnout. This could include more targeted advertising and social media outreach to attract a wider audience.
  2. Engage more volunteers: Having a larger volunteer team would help with organizing and managing the event more efficiently, including better assistance at collection points and information booths.
  3. Post-event follow-up: Implement a follow-up strategy to track the impact of our awareness campaign and encourage long-term sustainable practices among community members.

What were some strengths of your Community Project? Some strengths of our Community Project included:

  1. Strong community turnout: We had a significant number of community members attend the event, indicating a high level of interest in environmental sustainability.
  2. Effective partnerships: Collaborating with a local recycling company ensured the proper disposal of electronic waste and added credibility to our project.
  3. Informative resources: The availability of informative materials and knowledgeable experts made it easier for community members to learn about sustainable living practices.

Which component of the Community Project was most challenging and why? The most challenging component of the Community Project was promoting the event and ensuring a high turnout. This was challenging because we had limited resources for marketing, and raising awareness about the event in a competitive environment was not easy. In the future, we will need to allocate more time and resources to promotion to reach a broader audience and make a more significant impact on our community.
